Bangladesh National Fisheries Week began on July 24, 2023, with the goals of raising public awareness about the importance of fish preservation and developing country’s socio-economic development by increasing fish production.
Honourable Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury, Honourable Minister of Fisheries and Livestock Mr. SM Rezaul Karim, Secretary of Fisheries and Livestock Ministry Dr. Nahid Rashid and Director General of Fisheries Department Mr. K. Mahubur Rahman inaugurated the opening ceremony of the National Fisheries Week.
The theme for this year’s fisheries week was “Nirapod Mache Bhorbo Desh, Gorbo Smart Bangladesh.”It was a successful event that created unity among stakeholders while emphasizing the need of sustainable practices in preserving the nation’s fishing resources for future generations.
